Via its small size with 24 early-career researchers, the Winter School is designed to offer participants an extraordinary development experience among peers and leaders in a beautiful setting. The relaxed, yet comprehensive program and involvement of supportive leaders in the field provide participants with one-on-one learning and networking opportunities.
Winter School features
Every participant will have the opportunity to give an oral presentation and show a poster of their work.
Program devotes ample time for thorough discussion of participants’ projects with all speakers and faculty.
Speakers and faculty will share their experience in combining science and entrepreneurship in an exciting and fast-moving field.
Time for one-on-one conversations offers participants exclusive networking opportunities to fuel their careers.
Lectures and discussion groups covering:
mechanisms and methodologies in cancer immunology and immunotherapy, drug development, aspects of clinical translation, and career development.

Preliminary Program Overview
Location and venue
The 2024 CIMT Winter School will take place in the village of Obergurgl in Tirol, Austria. Situated 1,940 meters above sea level in the Ötztal valley, the village is the center of one of the top ski areas in the Alps - the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area. The Obergurgl University Center is located in a listed historical building featuring 40 bedrooms in simple Alpine style.
Application and registration
Applications are open for post-docs and advanced PhD students who are enrolled in a cancer immunotherapy program. Applications are evaluated and selected by the Winter School program committee. The registration fee of 450 EUR includes accommodation in shared, double occupation rooms, all meals, and transfer from Innsbruck. Submit your application by October 23, 2023.
